Porcelain Veneers

Before and After

In dentistry, crown and bridge (Restorative Dentistry) refers to the restoration of natural dentition that have been damaged, decayed or lost. Once we have examined your teeth and have evaluated your dental and medical history, we will be ready to provide a diagnosis, and treatment options. A crown may be constructed to restore an individual's damaged tooth back to its original form and function, while a bridge may be utilized to replace one or more missing teeth. These restorations are cemented onto the teeth and are referred to as "fixed" dentistry as opposed to a restoration of missing teeth with a removable appliance or partial denture.
Porcelain laminate veneers are probably the most esthetic means of creating a more pleasing and beautiful smile. They require a minimal amount of tooth reduction ( approximately .5 mm ) and are, therefore, a more conservative restoration than a crown. Porcelain veneers allow us to alter tooth position, shape, size and color. They are not the only alternative for all esthetic abnormalities but are truly a remarkable restoration when they are the treatment of choice.
Tooth bonding can correct a tooth gap, can cover spots, chips, and discolorations, can repair fractures, and can re-shape teeth. Tooth bonding is generally used for smaller defects in one or two teeth. When a cosmetic dentist does a complete smile makeover, generally he or she will use an "indirect" technique, such as porcelain veneers, and the veneers will be shaped and baked in a laboratory according to the smile design prescription of the cosmetic dentist, and then applied to the teeth.
White porcelain fillings are wonderful options if you are having cavities filled or if you would like to replace your older, unsightly metal fillings.
